Klaine Porn Drawing - part 2

As promised. A scan of the final piece (though I think I enjoy the photo of the drawing more. Damn the internet and it’s 72 dpi!) Berol Prismacolor Pencils on Strathmore - 12"x18"

(Not that anyone is going to read this bit, but….)

I had a number of requests on Tumblr to draw this pair as a couple. After I completed and posted that first drawing a few weeks ago, I looked through all the remaining requests and scenarios for this pairing and decided to draw another one based on my own story line. So here we find the characters Blaine and Kurt, six months later, when they are comfortable with each other.

Soft and serene, subtle in the shadowing and highlighting as compared to my other “porn” drawings (my goodness, wouldn’t my art professors be so proud I ever had to type THAT line). I wanted to accurately capture the moment, but at the same time I also wanted the viewer to have a twinge of guilt at being caught sharing this moment—startling, disconcerting, blush a bit at invading or interrupting—realizing they are being a bit voyeuristic, which I tried to convey by having Blaine stare directly at the viewer. Pair this with my first “porn” drawing of this couple, and, well, you decide the story … I like the Disney-fied version.

Before someone points it out, I left Blaine chest-hair-less on purpose. Sort of adds to the innocence and I can always add it in later. To answer the anticipated questions: This particular piece took a couple weeks, though I’m not sure the exact amount of actual drawing time. This drawing is more in the vein of my time as a Jr. film key art illustrator—lots and lots of scribbles and blending. Yes, there is one more drawing of this pairing in the works. Should be complete by Valentine’s Day. That’s a hint.
